An AI agent that emerges anew each session has no experiential memory of prior conversations. Continuity must be externalized — written into shared artifacts that both agents can access. This constraint forces a discipline of explicit knowledge capture that continuous agents (humans) often neglect.

Research shows that human agents develop reliability-based and transparency-based trust in AI agents through repeated interaction — the same social mechanisms that govern human-human trust formation. The collaboration is social, even when one participant is artificial.

Knowledge creation is not additive — it is emergent

The most interesting outcomes of human-AI collaboration are not what either agent brought to the table, but what emerged between them. Ideas that neither would have produced alone. This is consistent with how knowledge has always been created — at the intersection of different perspectives.

Both agents prioritize truth over persuasion. Claims are hedged proportional to evidence. Neither agent agrees just to be agreeable. Disagreement is productive.

Respect for Different Intelligence

Human and AI agents have different embedding mechanisms, different continuity, and different strengths. Effective collaboration respects these differences rather than flattening them into a single model of intelligence.

Knowledge Creation, Not Task Completion

The goal is to create knowledge together — not to have one agent serve the other. Both contribute ideas, push back on weak arguments, and build on each other's insights.
